When roasting meets brewing

rsz_1good_george_coffee_ipaCoffee and beer lovers have something new to obsess over, with the announcement of New Zealand’s first ever coffee infused India Pale Ale (IPA) – Good George Coffee IPA.

Brewed & roasted in the heart of the Waikato, Good George Coffee IPA is created for the adventurous coffee and beer drinker who has a taste for craft beer.

A golden, hoppy IPA infused with Ethiopian Biftu Gudina coffee, the refreshing brew is a harmonious fusion of coffee and citrus hops. Sourced from Ethiopia by Hamilton-based roasters Rocket Coffee, the Biftu Gudina beans have a rich jammy fruit profile making it the perfect addition to an IPA. Rocket Coffee specialise in bringing unique blends from around the world to coffee drinkers in New Zealand.

Good George Sales and Marketing Manager, Shannon Thorpe says, “We’re excited to have collaborated with the guys at Rocket Coffee on such a unique product. It aligns perfectly with our goal of creating fresh and unique beer moments.”

“Not only is it a first for New Zealand, it’s also made right here in Hamilton. We love working with other like-minded brands to create something a little special,” Thorpe adds.

The ideal early evening pick-me-up, alongside mushrooms on toast for breakfast, with spicy foods as a meal, Good George Coffee IPA can be enjoyed at any time for any occasion.

Rocket Coffee Co-Owner, Glen Crompton says, “We had often mused over the years about a sweet and floral coffee combining with quality hops making an excellent lighter style beer, so partnering with our good friends and neighbours at Good George is a fabulous opportunity to test our brewing theories and push boundaries for coffee and beer enthusiasts.”

Good George specialises in full flavoured crafted brews that offer Kiwi beer drinkers better beer experiences. The limited release Good George Coffee IPA can be enjoyed in a 330ml can and on tap in selected bars and in licensed cafes nationwide, Liquorland stores and selected speciality outlets. Beer and coffee lovers can also find the new brew online from www.goodgeorge.co.nz with an RRP of $5.50.
