On February 9, Auckland parish St Matthew-in-the-City is offering wine lovers an evening of ‘communion with a twist’. They have partnered with the Auckland Chamber of Commerce to bring celebrated author and scholar Dr Gisela Kreglinger to Auckland for an evening of wine tasting, food and soulful discussion.
Dr Kreglinger, a speaker, theologian and winemaker, will talk about the holistic and theological significance of wine, as it was in the beginning.
The discussion will be accompanied by a tasting of organic New Zealand wines selected by Nick Harrison, wine expert and owner of Ponsonby’s Golden Dawn – Tavern of Power.
Dr. Gisela Kreglinger grew up on a winery in Franconia, Germany – her family a long line of winemakers dating back to the 15th century. She holds a PhD in Historical Theology from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, is the author of The Spirituality of Wine, and travels the world giving presentations and hosting gatherings for discussions.
In a unique blend of talk and tasting, participants will be reminded how wine, feasting, passion and joy are inextricably linked.
