Lewis Road Creamery releases Chocolate Cream Liqueur

Lewis Road Creamery has continued its passion for all things dairy but this time adding a little bit extra.

The latest offering is a Chocolate Cream Liqueur – blending rich cream and real chocolate with a touch of premium spirits for an adult indulgence.

“In our view, New Zealand produces the world’s best dairy products,” says Lewis Road founder Peter Cullinane. “So it got us thinking, why can’t we make a New Zealand cream liqueur to rival the world’s best? Put another way, if the Irish can do it, so can we! And given we know a thing or two about chocolate drinks, why not start right there?”

The chocolate cream liqueur is a smooth and creamy 17 percent alcohol blend of fresh New Zealand cream, the finest 54 percent Belgian chocolate and triple distilled premium spirits.

“Lewis Road’s liqueur has a real depth of flavour with notes of fresh hazelnut, white pepper, creamy cashew and cacao,” says Lori Bahr, Lewis Road Creamery brand ambassador and bar manager at Ponsonby’s Bedford Soda & Liquor.

The liqueur is packaged in a sleek, gold aluminium bottle and to ensure it remains adults-only, it is protected with a push and twist cap that Lewis Road believes is a world first for an alcoholic beverage.

“The bottle design is different to our usual bottle and draws its inspiration from the very first milk bottles produced

in the 1880s,” says Peter. Each bottle carries the Oritain traceability seal to certify authenticity and origin.

Lewis Road Creamery Chocolate Cream Liqueur is available from Friday, February 10 from Glengarry’s and selected Liquorland outlets as well as glengarrywines.co.nz and liquorland.co.nz. RRP $49.99 for a 700ml bottle. For a full list of stockists, visit www.nightcreamery.co.nz
