Entries for the 2024 New Zealand Spirits Awards are now open.
The New Zealand Spirits Awards will be judged in 16 categories and each category will be recognised with gold, silver, bronze and double-gold medals as appropriate.
Trophies will be awarded for both Best in Category as well as Best in New Zealand Product in Category and will be presented to the winners at a ceremony on Friday, September 13, in Auckland.
Trophies are also awarded annually for the best New Zealand Emerging Product Award, New Zealand Packaging Design Award and New Zealand Innovation Award.
The blind-tasting process is undertaken by peer-recognised judges, which guarantees that every entry is judged fairly and given equal consideration
What’s new for 2024?
The organising committee comprised of industry experts has reassessed the judging procedure.
In an effort to refine the judging process, additional information has been requested during the entry stage which will aid in categorising spirits effectively for the blind-tasting session.
The classification of categories adheres to widely accepted groupings within the spirit industry.
The organisers reserve the right to reclassify any submission into an alternative category (subject to the submitter’s approval) should insufficient entries exist within a particular category.
Winners Announced
Medal winners will be announced on the Friday, August 9, and trophy winners will be announced and celebrated at the New Zealand Spirits Awards dinner in Auckland.
