Sprig & Fern launches glass bottles

Nelson brewery Sprig & Fern has announced a major addition to their product portfolio which will now include glass 330ml six packs and 500ml singles of their award-winning beer, available from early April 2018.

While the Sprig & Fern range of beer and seasonal limited releases have long been available to consumers at Sprig & Fern Taverns in the Nelson/Tasman, Wellington and Christchurch areas and the venues have a strong community following to date, the bottled product has been available in 1.25L P.E.T. only.

“My brewing ethos is staunch around quality, consistency and being well made,” says Tracy Banner, Master Brewer and owner of Sprig & Fern Brewery. “We offer an extensive range of styles of beers and ciders and the time has come to expand beyond the P.E.T and keg market to include cafés and restaurants whilst giving the consumer a premium craft singles option.”

Lee Brown, General Manager at Sprig & Fern, says following on from the brewery’s brand refresh at the end of 2017, they once again worked with design agency Inject, tasking them with transforming tasting notes into a unique label with illustrations provided by renowned artist Gina Kiel. “For example, the West Coast I.P.A illustration, evokes all the feelings of riding along the Californian coastline, the quintessential stars and stripes and of course, loads of hops,” he says.

As the first person to be awarded an honorary membership of the Brewers Guild of New Zealand, the move into glass gives more Kiwi’s access to Tracy’s and the Sprig & Fern teams’ award-winning range nation-wide.

The 500ml singles range and the 330ml six pack range will be available from early April 2018.
