The spirits industry in New Zealand is on fire at the moment, with more distillers and producers than ever before. This month, we have listened to our readers and we have a huge spirits offering for you.

I take a look at the RTD category which has changed immeasurably over the last few years. Gone are the days of a brightly-coloured sugar-filled concoctions – now all age groups are enjoying natural, low-sugar RTDs and are proud to do so.

In other spirits features, Tash ‘The Whisky Girl’ McGill takes us through the new New Zealand Whisky Guidelines and definitions and shares an update on the global and local whisky world, plus she takes a look at the expansion of vodka. It might not be as big a category as gin, but it’s creeping up there.

We also have Chardonnay and Pinot Gris tasted by Cameron Douglas MS, our columnists share advice on liquor retail and franchises and we put the spotlight on Wellington lounge bar, Love Not Lost.
