The NZ Cider Festival cancelled

The 2021 NZ Cider Festival – set to take place in the Hawke’s Bay in two weeks – has been cancelled due to the recent change to New Zealand’s COVID protection framework level.

“We are extremely disappointed to announce that due to the recent change to the Red traffic light level, plus ongoing uncertainty and risks associated with the Omicron variant of COVID-19, the NZ Cider Festival organising committee have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 NZ Cider Festival,” they said in a statement.

The Festival had already been postponed from last November, due to COVID-19.

”Thank you for your patience whilst we looked at many different options to try and move forward with the Hawke’s Bay event, but whilst New Zealand may move into an orange or green status sooner and allow larger gatherings, we cannot predict when this will happen.”

Organisers say they are devastated by the news and understand that many people will have had travel plans and arrangements locked in.

”Thank you for your support and understanding during this difficult time for the Cider Festival team, plus the wider industry this effects.”

All tickets will be automatically refunded in full via Eventfinda. Due to the large volumes of refunds, it may take up to 10 days to show in your account. For any refund queries, please contact support@eventfinda.co.nz.

The 2022 Festival will be held in Nelson in November 2022, the specific date will be confirmed soon.
