Mac’s releases Fruit Bat IPA

Mac’s has announced the release of its newest limited edition brew – the Fruit Bat Passionfruit IPA.

With Cascade and Motueka hops added in the whirlpool and then double dry hopped with Amarillo, Brooklyn and Simcoe, this brew hits notes of citrus and pine.

Passionfruit is added late in the brew to highlight the tropical notes of the hops, creating a tart Passionfruit IPA.

Available in a 4-pack, Mac’s Fruit Bat pours a deep amber colour with 7% ABV. Pilsner and crystal malts are used in the brew to give it just the right amount of body and flavour.

“Fruit Bat is bursting with tropical hop notes that are accentuated by the addition of passionfruit juice, to create a beer that will suit any occasion as the weather warms up,” says Mac’s ambassador, Kurt Gross.

“Flavoured IPAs are already proving popular in craft beer circles, and we are really happy to have a beer that allows Kiwis to explore new tastes. The tart, zesty flavour of Fruit Bat will be a hit with Kiwis who love a fruity taste without the sweetness.”

Mac’s Fruit Bat Passionfruit IPA will be available from 1st November in 4-packs for four months only, RRP $14.99.
