Kiwi entrepreneurs launch premium gin subscription service

Launching this week, Clink is a premium monthly gin subscription service that will deliver the very best local gins, along with garnishes, serving suggestions and mixers, direct to gin lovers’ doors.

Each month Clink will hero a specific region within New Zealand and include a full-sized bottle from a local distillery in an elegant surprise-and-delight package.

Clink subscribers will also be able to impress their friends with their insider knowledge thanks to a regional guide that will be included in the box each month that gives insight into local producers and even hospitality venues where local gins can be sampled.

Clink is the brainchild of two Kiwi women, and gin lovers – Katija Vlatkovich and Helen Pennington – who have backgrounds in marketing, hospitality, events and eCommerce and who were struggling to keep up with all the new local gin distilleries opening.

“Gin has always been a product that did well in New Zealand, but the last few years have seen an explosion of world-class producers, with the number of distilleries ballooning to more than 130,” says Vlatkovich.

“We saw an opportunity to connect gin lovers to boutique producers in a market that is overflowing with so many wonderful local gin options that it can be hard to keep up with them all.

“Clink is perfect for gin fans who are keen to try new things, support local, and impress their guests with their local gin knowledge.”

Showcasing local producers with uniquely Kiwi offerings is also at the heart of Clink’s offering: “We are blessed to be surrounded by some of the highest quality ingredients in the world, and lucky that very intelligent, creative and talented Kiwis are turning these magical ingredients into boutique gin.

“Juniper berries from conifer trees give gin its distinctive taste, but local producers are making global quality beverages using native botanicals to create authentically Kiwi products. We wanted to create a sophisticated service that showcases this talent, and also helps connect boutique gin producers to a wider audience in a fun way,” says Vlatkovich.

“Hospitality has also had a tough few years, so we wanted to make sure we included a regional guide each month to help highlight the wonderful venues around the country where gin-lovers can sample the local offerings and enjoy a fabulous gin cocktail.”

All Clink packaging is New Zealand-made and recyclable and/or compostable. For more information, click here.
