Uber Eats announces alcohol delivery in three New Zealand cities

Uber Eats has announced it is adding an alcohol category to its delivery service in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Approximately 30 local bottle stores throughout the main cities will be available via the Uber Eats app, with Auckland starting delivery this week.

To access alcohol delivery, customers should log onto the app and search in the ‘alcohol’ category for bottle shops nearby.

Alcohol deliveries will only available between 10am-10.30pm and bottle shops may have their own delivery times within this time frame.

The rules associated with the new category include limits on the amount that can be purchased, strict ID requirements and no service for visibly intoxicated people.

You can also opt out from access the alcohol category and from marketing materials if alcohol is a trigger for you.
