New Zealand is the first country in the world to see the light, we get Christmas early, Fridays are earlier too, and best of all… we get to enjoy a pint on St. Patrick’s Day before anyone else.
For a nation that bleeds black it seems entirely appropriate that Kiwis are the first in the world to wet the shamrock with the liquid affectionately known as the black stuff. Great in a pint and incredibly versatile when it comes to cooking and baking, Guinness, the world’s most famous stout, truly is a beer made of more.
It’s soon time to stock the shelves for the popular celebration of all things Irish, St. Patrick’s Day, on 17th March! And what’s more, St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Thursday this year (the perfect excuse to take the Friday off?)! Now that’s a thought definitely worth raising a Guinness to.
So whether it’s enjoying an after work pint with friends, or delving into some Guinness ice cream for dessert (it’s a thing!), there are plenty of fun ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
