The trophy winners of the third annual New Zealand Spirits Awards will be revealed at a gala dinner tomorrow night in Auckland.
The 2021 NZ Spirits Awards were judged in May by 20 industry experts, including The Shout NZ contributors Cameron Douglas MS and Tash McGill, with 344 spirits tasted over three days.
From the entries, 313 medals were awarded to local and international spirits, including 10 Double Gold Medals.
In the presentation tomorrow evening at the Hilton in Auckland, two trophies will be presented in each of the seven categories – Trophy for Best New Zealand in Category and Trophy for Best Overall in Category.
“The winners were clearly leaders in their categories, delighting the judges,” says Sue James of Distilled Spirit Aotearoa.
The winner of the New Zealand Innovation Award, Viniquip New Zealand Design Packaging Award and Long Story Short New Zealand Emerging Product Award will also be announced.
