Moa stars at 2016 Coast to Coast

Ice cold Moa beer was flowing free at a number of pop-up Moa bars along the course of the recent 2016 Coast to Coast mountain race.

In December 2015, it was announced that Moa Brewing Co. was to be the new official beer sponsor for the annual Coast to Coast event. True to its commitment, Moa saw fit to get a beer in the hand of every competitor, supporter and spectator. The Moa team also fully immersed themselves in the race with team members (including CEO Geoff Ross) looking after participants and supporters alike with ice cold refreshments at Moa bars stationed at multiple points along the course including the Kumara Paddock Bar, the Klondyke Corner Mountain Bar and New Brighton Beach Bar at the finish line.

Over 3,000 beers were served up over the course of the 48 hour event by the glass (via 20 50-litre kegs) and by the bottle, the parched contestants fittingly favouring the Moa Southern Alps brew.

Moa CEO Geoff Ross thoroughly enjoyed drinking in the success of its new Coast to Coast partnership, raising awareness and converting southern men (and women) to the unique taste of Moa’s craft brews. “Not only is the Coast to Coast a perfect alignment with our brand in its own right, Moa’s activity on the ground over the course of the weekend has proven to be a successful, and by all means eventful, sampling and sales exercise”, says Ross.

“We’re already looking forward to a bigger and better Coast to Coast 2017.”

Josh Scott, founder of Moa Brewing Co. (pictured below) and frequent multisport competitor, this year completed his seventh Coast to Coast race, though this time may have been the most rewarding with his Moa crew there to congratulate him (and drench him in beer) at the finish line.

Sam Clark, winner of the men’s longest day title, also celebrated victory with a Moa magnum bottle of the Southern Alps brew. Each contestant received a Moa in their hand at the finish line, as well as a bottle of the Southern Alps brew in their starter pack (many snatched up early by cheeky family and friends).
