Exclusive New Wine Lounge Opens in the Heart of Parnell

Set to raise the bar in hospitality; Crown Range Cellar’s new members only wine lounge is a celebration of good taste, combining fine wines with fabulous architecture.

Located in a quiet courtyard, close to the bustling centre of Parnell, the Crown Range Cellar wine lounge was inspired by international destinations that feature world-class cellar door experiences.

Aiming to exceed the expectations of modern hospitality, the space offers personalised and private wine-centric experiences.

Tastings are by appointment and combine a selection of fine wines, with an informal but educational approach to wine appreciation, exploring the interplay between taste, sound, smell, touch and sight.

The wine lounge has recently been rebuilt following a fire which severely damaged the building.

Jing Song, Crown Range Cellar founder and owner states “the wine lounge can be compared to a phoenix rising from the ashes”.

“Our rebuild is designed to showcase the wines of Crown Range Cellar with a formal bar, wine racks covering the walls and a dining zone that can accommodate a long table for private lunches or dinners” she adds.
Renowned architect Ron Seeto designed the fitout to reflect the brands Central Otago origins with darkened wood, and schist.

Seeto, on the aesthetic says “the ‘art’ of architecture and the user experience have always been the priorities…these twin concerns inform the design story that Jing and I have for the lounge project through several design interventions”.

“The authentic display includes a special ceiling art installation that nods to the fire with burnt wood and fabric ‘smoke’ providing a halo to the bar area”.
