The Whisky Galore team has announced that they will be hosting their 7th biennial whisky festival, DramFest, in 2020.
Held on the 7th and 8th of March 2020 at the newly refurbished Christchurch Town Hall, DramFest will be two full days of whisky education and tasting.
More than 300 different whisky and rum expressions will be available to sample from distilleries, producers and independent bottlers from Scotland, Japan, Ireland, America, New Zealand and around the world. Plus, more than 20 visiting whisky and rum experts will be in attendance, many of whom will host exclusive tasting sessions over the course of the weekend.
Attendance at the festival is predicted to top 2000, with whisky lovers travelling as far afield as Europe to attend.
DramFest also includes the National Whisky Cocktail Competition – bringing the best of New Zealand’s bartending community together to compete for a trip to the Glenfarclas Distillery in Scotland; and the DramFest Whisky & Rum Trail – a collaboration with local Christchurch businesses to be involved in the festival and to encourage attendees in to the city centre.
