The Fruit Wine & Cider Makers Association of NZ (FWCMANZ) has announced it is establishing a New Zealand Cider Day on the second Saturday of March each year.

The Association says the aim of NZ Cider Day is to raise awareness and promote the diversity and quality of New Zealand cider.
“NZ Cider Day has the potential to become an annual celebration that drives awareness, sales, and appreciation for New Zealand’s cider industry,” says the announcement.
Cider producers and anyone that sells or serves cider across New Zealand is encouraged to mark this day by organising cider events, tastings and occasions that draw attention to New Zealand cider.
