Christchurch brewery raises $900,000 through crowdfunding

Christchurch craft brewery Two Thumb Brewing Co. has raised more than $900,000 to expand their brand.

Launched by friends Dave Dixon and Mark Limber, Two Thumb has expanded and grown rapidly, from turning over $82k in the first year, to being on track to achieve $1.5million in this financial year.

At the start of 2022, Two Thumb moved into a state-of-the-art facility built in 2018 by Lion Nathan in Colombo Street Central, Christchurch, formerly known as The Fermentist.

Through the Equitise crowdfunding scheme, the Two Thumb team wanted to raise funds to bring on additional sales and marketing resources, plus open two new venues in Christchurch including a gaming and hospitality-cross venture.

At the close of the deal, Two Thumb had raised $906,900.

“This allows us to create a formula for a network of more premises… We know how to do it now, and we’re good at it,” Limber told Stuff.co.nz.
